Mr. Loyd Lavette Tabor died July 2, 2005 in Jefferson, TX. Services were held ay Haggard Heaster Chapel in Jefferson. Graveside services were held at the Simsboro Cemetery. He was 67.

He was born in Bernice, LA to Victor and Louise Tabor. He attended the first eight grades in Bernice, then moved to Simsboro. While in high school, he was pitcher for his baseball team.

Mr. Tabor was in the United Stated Army from 1959 to 1962. He served in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. Mr. Tabor was employed by SWEPCO at the Wilkes Power Plant in Avinger, TX from 1963 until his retirement in 2001. He has resided at Pine Hill Nursing Home and Rehab since 2001.

He was a lover of all animals, especially his stallion 'Hancock' and his dog 'Will'.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pauline 'Polly' Phillips Tabor of Jefferson, TX; two brothers, John E. Best and wife Sue of Jefferson and Jerry Best and wife Renee of Jefferson; eight nephews, one niece, two half sisters; one aunt and one uncle.
