Hello,
This is my nickname given to me by a wellsite Geologist around 1994.
While drilling a well, we have a tool in the drillstring that reads the natural gamma radiation from the earth and with this information we can determine sands (hydrocarbon bearing formations) from shales (non-hydrocarbon bearing).
This name has stuck and I use it as a handle while editing this website. I also use gamma_french as well.
