This is a couple of years old. If anyone has up to date information to place here, please do so.
The Simsboro Lady Tigers basketball team is having another successful year- After getting beat in the semifinal game at the state tournament last year against Holdes, the temn has set their goals again to go all the way. Our record is currently 39-3, and we are listed as the number 1 team in the state for the 2nd year in a row. But that does not mean anything to the girls; they want to repeat what they did in 2004 and bring the state title home again to Simsboro.
Under the direction of head coach Kelly Stuckey, the girls are going after their sixth straight year of being district champs.
The team has seven seniors this year - Jerika Archie, Lameka Harris, Tameka Harris, Lyn Overall, Cherryl Patterson, Lucy Smith, and Kristen Wall. Cherryl Patterson is returning her senior year as two-time state MVP in Class B. She is currently averaging 22 points per game and 10 rebounds.
Playoffs begin February 16th with the finals being held in Hammond, Louisiana, on March 4th. Let’s all hope the ladies will reach their goal and become the 2006 STATE CHAMPIONS.
GO LADY TIGERS!!!
